24h ChallengeTry It IRL
You practiced everyday interactions on screen. Now go do them for real — in the next 24 hours.
Challenge 1
Go to a coffee shop, fast food place, or convenience store and order something by yourself. Before you reach the counter, know exactly what you want. Say it clearly, make eye contact, and say "thank you" when you get it.
Why this matters: Ordering is the most common public interaction you'll do for the rest of your life. Each time gets easier. Start stacking those reps today.
Challenge 2
The next time you're in a store and can't find something, walk up to an employee and ask: "Excuse me, do you know where [item] is?" That's the entire interaction. Time yourself — it'll be under 20 seconds.
Why this matters: Asking strangers for help is a skill, not a personality trait. The more you do it, the less anxiety you feel. And employees literally get paid to help you — you're not bothering them.
Challenge 3
Have one small-talk exchange with someone today — a cashier, an Uber driver, a neighbor. Use the formula: respond to their greeting + ask "how's your day going?" Then just listen. That's it.
Why this matters: Small talk follows a formula. Once you learn it, every interaction with strangers becomes less intimidating. Today's goal isn't to be charming — it's to be responsive.
